We stopped here for dinner on a road trip to Michigan. I had the pork burger with the scotch egg seasoning, which was pretty good, but the fries with cheese and gravy (I was hoping for something like poutine) were disappointing. My hubby had the "Crawford" (bacon cheeseburger with egg on top) which was also OK, but the bacon was burnt. The highlight for me was the beer. I love microbreweries, so discovering Round Barn was a plus and made the trip worthwhile. I also like Great Lakes brewery and the beer was reasonably priced. On the downside, their keg of Guinness was out, although if I'd had that I probably wouldn't have explored the rest of the beer menu. The wall of TVs was good (all sports) if you like that kind of thing (we do). No strange smells noted, and the restrooms were clean, if a long walk from the actual restaurant proper. Overall not bad, but I'll probably look to explore somewhere else the next time I'm in the area.

Not impressed. The pickles were good.

After our second trip to Crawford's, it's time to write a review! Had the "All you can Eat" fish, last weekend, and it was WONDERFUL! Food was excellent, and the waitress was a sweetheart! A couple at the next table, called over the manager to RAVE about their experience... Atmosphere comfortable, food great, staff friendly and helpful! Overall, one of the best places in Michigan City to eat a nice meal!

I wont be coming back to this restaurant anytime soon and wont be recommending it neither. The service was good but the food for the price is worst than the cheapest fastfood restaurant ive ever went. I ordered Blackened swordfish and its more like salted swordfish. Its gross it tasted like salt i didnt even taste the fish. And for 20 bucks i got a small portion of fish with steamed green peas and carrots which tasted like it was frozen and undercooked rice. Not worth it at all. although it was a nice ambience and good service still you come to spend your hard earned money on good food and i didnt find it here.

I'm going to give it 3 stars just because the food tasted pretty good. We arrived around 7pm with a group of 5 and the hostess made a big deal about how busy they were and how we would have to wait. The restaurant was mostly empty and there was no one waiting besides us... It was a little humorous until we realized she was serious. Then she acted like she did us a favor by seating us there. The waitress was fine but absent a lot. I guess they aren't used to having any customers?

Great beer prices. Ok food. Burger didn't have that much flavor but it was decent not gross like some yelpers mentioned. I tried the scotch eggs which everyone here mentioned but I was not a fan at all.

This restaurant was dead and I know why. Service was Terrible!!! We were the only people in the restaurant part a few people at the bar but it took forever to get the food and the order didn't come out right. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The carrot cake was gross. Maybe I'm spoiled with good restaurants being from Chicago. This place really misses the mark. The hotel it's attached to is great though.

I have never reviewed anything online but after I went here and saw these posts I had to write one!!! It's not the most upscale place and is connected to the hotel but in the 3 times I've eaten here I've never smelled any chlorine. I've always had the greatest service and the food has always been delicious!!! They have the BEST appetizer I've ever had. If you go you have to try the SCOTCH EGGS!!! My husband lived in New Zealand for 2 years and orders fish and chips anywhere he can. He said the fish and chips he had were the best he has had since living in New Zealand and the chips were fresh cut. It is now one of our favorite places to eat whenever we can get out!! The only downside is they are not open for lunch anymore.

Horrible! We stay at the hotel connected to crawford every year for about a month or two for work. The food has made us sick before and the service is terrible. Something as small as changing the tv to a sporting event is the biggest task for them! Bad food that makes you sick+ bad services= DO NOT COME HERE!

I ended up coming here for second lunch and some brews while hanging out in Michigan City. FINALLY. Here's the deal- The good: 1. Great Lakes and Round Barn micro brew bottles for $3.50! I think there was 4 of each. Not bad, Crawford's, not bad. 2. If you sit to the right of the bar, there are 4 huge projection screens for those of you who would rather watch TV than talk to your significant other. SCORE! 3. SCOTCH EGGS! And they are really good. So is the horsey sauce that comes with it. (And unrelated but still really good was their bleu cheese dressing.) 4. Service was good even though our poor server also had the table from Hell across from us. I was impressed. The bad: 1. The food is just OKAY. I got the appetizer sampler and it had a delicious scotch egg, some wings (eh.), and thick-cut pub chips with melted shredded cheese and spicy brown gravy (was hoping for more of a poutine-ish dish but rather got potatoes with some melted cheese and coagulated gravy on the side. Bah.) The menu is also really small and very Irish fare heavy. Cool if you're in to that kind of thing, but my husband had a hard time finding something he might like. The ugly: 1. The restaurant is in a hotel and therefore reeks of chlorine from the indoor pool. You also have to use the lobby restroom because the restaurant doesn't have one of its own. Not a major issue, but kind of annoying.

My husband and I went here on a Sunday before staying at Serenity Springs which was nearby. We had a late lunch around 2pm and the restaurant was not busy at all. They had a rib special that I decided to get ($10 for a 1/2 slab of ribs and two sides.) the ribs were really good! My husband had steak quesadillas that were tasty as well. The bartender was our server and she did a great job. Also, $2 domestic bottles was a bonus. If I was ever in the area, I would return for sure.

The restaurant was clean and the decor was tasteful. The waiter did everything right he was prompt, polite and friendly. I had the Shepards pie, the potato and cheese topping was a perfect mixture of potato and cheese. The meat was super tender, the gravy seasoned just right. I will definitely go back to this place again.

I was excited to see a new restaurant in Michigan City. After looking at other reviews, I wasn't sure what to think. First, it smelled fine. Second, it is a hotel restaurant so I'm okay with the bathroom in the lobby. That is how it has been for all the restaurants who have occupied this space. Third, the food was okay. My French Onion soup was good but the aftertaste is one I hope to never experience again. My husbands burger was "okay" but the pub chips were unseasoned and flavorless. I'm not sure what kind of Scotch Egg previous diners had but ours were not good. The egg was overcooked with a green yolk and it had an odd texture. I've had Scotch Eggs and these aren't even close to authentic. Now, the reason I will NEVER go back was the service. It took way too long to get our drinks, our order and the food. We had to walk up front to get our check. If the restaurant was crowded, I would be more patient but we were 1 of 2 tables orignally. (2 more came in while we were eating and one of them ate and left almost 15 minutes before us!) Perfect restaurant if you have ADD because the contrasting music in the bar and diningroom was distracting and the 4 TVs that you couldn't hear were completely different from the music. (I loved watching the infomercial on hair removal. Very appetizing.) The menu really had some nice options on them but we will have to wait for my husband to be retired so we can spend the time waiting for our food. (And we did say something to the Assistant Manager and she wasn't very apologetic.) I used to waitress. I never blame my server for bad food. I do blame them for bad service. She wrecked the experience. This restaurant will never make it at this rate.
